A classic French Bouillotte lamp featuring a two-light bronze candelabra base and an adjustable painted tole drum shade decorated with floral and bow motifs. This style of lighting traditionally was designed for illuminating card tables and intimate sitting rooms. The shade presents in a warm ochre-yellow finish.
The softly distressed finish, aged patina and timeworn floral decoration lend this example a wonderfully collected appearance.
Oxidation noted to underside of shade. Patina throughout. Some paint loss/rubbing to shade. This is a non-electric lamp, made to hold candlesticks.
